NWUCHE COMNENDS LATE EZE ROBINSON,TASKS TRADITIONAL RULERS ON EKPEYE UNITY

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Prince Chibudom Nwuche has asked traditional rulers in Ekpeye Land to foster unity amongst themselves and by extension that of Ekpeye ethnic nation.

Speaking as Chairman of the occasion at Odiereke Ubie palace of the late Eze Ekpeye Logbo II His Majesty Eze (Flt. Lt) Robinson O. Robinson during the activities marking the final burial rites of the departed Ekpeye king, Hon Nwuche extolled the unique qualities of late Eze Robinson whom he described as a “peaceful king during his reign” and did all he could to bring Ekpeye together as one united and peaceful ethnic nation.Maintaining that Robinson was always ready to assist Ekpeye sons and daughters no matter the cost.

Nwuche who is also the Esama Ekpeye Logbo (The Moon) crowned by the late Robinson O Robinson, urged the traditional rulers to live by the examples of the late King “as doing so will keep his memories and legacies alive” and to ensure there is absolute peace and unity in the Kingdom.

He commended the wife of the late King HRH Mrs Fumilayo Robinson and children for ensuring befitting funeral programme during the burial and then the second and final burial rites, noting that with the conclusion of activities for the second burial, Ekpeye people could now commence the process of the emergence of a new king which will occur at the appointed time. He maintained that only Ekpeye people will determine who succeeds the late Robinson,and that people should stop bickering, grandstanding and threatening to crown themselves.

The event which was graced by personalities including the representative of former Military Head of state General Ibrahim Babangida and that of the governor of old Kaduna-plateau state Air Commodore Dan Suleiman, also had in attendance traditional leaders, government functionaries, cultural groups etc.
