How do service providers like MTN, GLO, Smile and co make their money.
How is it that some service are faster than the other.
I get the idea of how when you are trying to access ex a video from the internet, it's transported through the wide range of the interconnected fiber optics cables, from there to the tower closer to you, and the video is communicated to device through electromagnetic waves.
But I keep wondering what is the work of the service providers?

If u are asking for internet provider then ur question is strange because we all buy recharge card with out money. So who do u think the money we spend on recharge card goes to, if not the internet provider.

Information on the internet are sent through electromagnetic waves to our phones, through a process called modulation and demodulation. It's takes lots of device to carry out these process, these devices are own n maintain by the internet provider.
When u run out of data, they cut u off from using their device, so u can no longer access the internet. You have no choice than to buy data from them to gain access to the internet and thats how they make their money.


As for website owners, most provide services eg jumia, konga, Ali express. While the likes of facebook make money from advert

BASICALLY, THEY SELL YOU A TICKET (DATA AND AIRTIME) WHICH YOU PAY FOR WITH CURRENCY..

THATS HOW ISPS MAKE MONEY.
