Fintiri And His Cosmetic Approach Of Governance In Adamawa State, By Mayas by TGNEWS(m): 9:40am On Jun 17, 2021
.....The midterm report

As we prepare to celebrate democracy day in Adamawa state, what comes into my mind, was how Fintiri and his cosmetic approach of governance wasted or still wasting our hard-earned resources in the name of projects commissioning.

Last month, the state witnessed the inflow of VIPs, who outnumbered the projects executed by the Adamawa state government, and much money was wasted in the name of commissioning projects that are not having a direct impact on the people of the state.

It's even worrisome that the Governor with his team is not in their economic sense to manage the state's resources. If they can spend millions of naira to invite Governors from another state just to come and commission a project that’s less than a kilometer. That could be the reason why Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, and his Kebbi State counterpart, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu refused to honor the invitation extended to them by the Adamawa state Governor knowing that the fact that the project they were invited to the commission are not up to a kilometer.

What do you expect from a man who is unprepared to lead but got the leadership sentimentally? Adamawa should expect the worst because his activities in the last four weeks exposed his moral weakness, leadership clumsiness, and political greediness.
If you x-ray his midterm report you can see the level of confusion. When he took over as a substantive Governor last two years, he promised to pay more attention to rural infrastructure, Education, Youth empowerment, and welfare to the civil servants. Statistically, the results of his two years in office are tilting towards different directions. It's now clear, after collecting billions of naira as a loan, in addition to the FAAC and local Government funds, Mr fresh air can not show a single project executed in the rural area.

The rural feeder roads, the rural electrification, and multiple renovations of primary schools, that are currently undergoing in the state, are all federal government own projects, with little or no counterpart payments from the state government. On the youth empowerment, Governor Ahmadu succeeded only in disengaging over 10,000 vibrant Youths from the civil service in the name of due process.

Despite multiple court rulings ordering him to reconsider his previous position and re-engage the young men and women of batch D, adamantly he refused to adhere to the court orders because of sentiment.

He was nicknamed the civil servant Governor before he got elected, promising civil servants heaven on earth, during his electioneering campaign, which turns to be upside down. The state civil servants ended with no promotion benefit and the sizable running cost they were enjoying previously was downsized to a level they can't pay their daily rate staff, leaving some ministries to operate on Zero running cost allocation.

The local Government's staff are the worse affected, they are still collecting the old minimum wage. He bragged to pay salary on or before the 23rd of every month, with or without FAAC, these promises are now considered audio Statements. LEA and secondary school teachers many times stay more than 40 days without collecting their monthly salaries.

The educational sectors, that he promised to upgrade and standardize, are rapidly deteriorating. The issue of free WAEC and NECO is becoming mayhem to both the parents and their wards. Parents need to voice out the many abnormalities of this government, we the opposition will never be tired of telling this government truth whenever they are not getting things right.

The question many kept asking, is that, why Fintiri is more interested in building what is not needed by the people instead of embarking on people-oriented projects? The answer is simple, project 2023 is looking costly and the chances of getting re-elected are fading and slimmer by the day. He collected 17billion to construct the unneeded flyover and conduct massive renovations of our secondary school, yet, up to the time of putting this piece of write up no single secondary school is been RENOVATED or under renovations.

It looks funny when I saw the letter of his Governor Ahmadu written on the 9th May 2021 with ref. No.GHA/5/528/5.1/641 addressed to the speaker assigned by him, requesting the robber stamp state legislators to approve an additional 3,720,000,000 vehement from various subheads to argue excess expenditure which was incurred on certain capital projects under the ministry of works and energy.

There is an expected variation for the two flyover projects to consume the whole of Adamawa income, this is the unfortunate situation we found ourselves in.

May I submit that the commissioning of his glorified bridge was unnatural? How can you commission a project that was not yet completed? What surprised many was the presence of the godfather at the occasion, his actions at the occasion as a special guest contradicted his principles of being a transparent leader. One should expect him to advise the slippery Governor to complete the project first, before his blessing. Anyway, I'm surprised sometimes politician speaks with both sides of their mouth.

If the Numan federation who stood solidly behind his excellency both at the party primaries and the final general elections, could be rewarded with less than a two-kilometer road, who is going to be rewarded more? I’m not surprised when I heard no single project sited in places like Mubi, Maiha, song Gari just to mention a few.

His poor performance did not stop him from collecting loans, which shows the level of insensitiveness and clear intention of mortgaging the future generation. His letter, address to the speaker dated back to 7 April 2020 with the following ref. No GHA/5/528/vol4/289 requesting the house to grant him approval to collect the 9,917,229.90 from the FAMILY HOUSE FUNDS LIMITED with a 5 years moratorium and 12 years repayment period for the construction of 2000 housing estate for the civil servants at Malkohi is a good example. In another separate letter, addressed to the speaker on 9 May 2021, asking the House to approve the irrevocable standing payment order (ISPO)of 25billion naira ( bond series) in favor of FBNquest.the bond issuing house would last up to 2024 when his excellency is not in the office, which is equally dangerous to the destiny of our growing kids and the future of the entire state.

It’s now clear that the Fintiri Government is not prepared to deliver dividends of democracy to the electorate, but instead, they are putting gimmicks of survival. The game is now in the hands of the electorates to make a changeover.

If you think a palliative hoarder would change, from bad to good then you need a psychiatric doctor to examine your brain.
