INTRODUCTION
Understanding the standards and quality systems in agricultural produce is important to ensure the produce are safe for human consumption and meet the stipulated regulations for export. Producing quality produce that meets international standards also reduce wastage resulting from rejection by exporting companies due to excess residuals in the products which consequently reduce profit received by farmers. This 5 days course will equip participants with knowledge including the importance of standards and quality systems for the agrifood sector.

• Learned to improve profitability by exporting to the international market.

• Identifying differences between standards for a specific export market

• Sampling methods used by inspection procedures
• Quality standards tolerances application
• Private sector quality assurance
• Implementation of standards;
• Training in using quality standards of horticultural produce;

• Export regulations of agricultural produce,
• Export markets for agricultural produce
• Storage and packaging.
