I think they are very close in size, both have a very long canine but silver backs might have a edge over grizzly in level of intelligence. Silver backs are social animals that are capable of keeping order within an extended family of up to 20 members.

I think you're mistaken here or perhaps you mistook a silver back for King Kong. That is just a movie oh. A grizzly beats a silverback 10 times out of 10. The average silverback weighs around 350 pounds and stands at 5-and-a-half feet tall. Their long arms give them the reach advantage on a grizzly, but that’s about it. The gorilla only has one attack on a grizzly: a bite. Gorillas do have a fearsome bite and I have no doubt the bite would do some damage, but it would have to kill the grizzly almost immediately. The grizzly could bite while it was getting bitten and it could swipe with its massive claws. In all honesty the animals that can easily take down a grizzly one on one is another grizzly, even a tiger or lion would have to take on a grizzly from the back. I think you really need to appreciate the sheer strength, bite force and fearsome look of a grizzly to fully comprehend what it's capable of. One swipe of it's paws with those 3 to 4 inch claws can easily severe the head of a wolf. Even a tiger can do that with ease. A gorilla is a docile creature who forages and fights for mating dominace and protection. That's all they do, but a grizzly fends off other bears, wolves, coyotes etc on a regular.
