Funkekeme urges Church leaders to support Okowa’s Stronger Delta vision with prayers

The immediate past Senior Political Adviser to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon (Chief) Funkekeme Solomon, has said the Okowa administration is set to finish well and strong, but not without fervent prayers by church leaders and the generality of Christians.

Hon Solomon stated this on Ozoro, Isoko North Local Governnent Area, while inaugurating the Delta South chapter of the Coalition of Christian Political Leaders Forum (CCPLF)

He noted that Okowa had deepened infrastructural and human capital development across the three senatorial districts, stressing that he had demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities that had engendered peace, equity, fairness and justice to all irrespective of political affiliation, tribe, religion or status.

The former Senior POLAD urged CCPLF, made up of Bishops, Pastors and Evangelists of different denominations, to involve their church members to intensify prayers for the Governor and his administration.

On who would succeed Okowa, he corroborated the Governor’s statement that power could only come from God and called on Deltans to always speak good of the works of the Governor and ensure that his vision of building a Stronger Delta was realized.

Quoting Daniel 4:17, Rt Hon Solomon urged those nursing various political ambitions in 2023 to put God first and not heat up the polity, adding that Governor Okowa needed the support of all to be able to bequeath a legacy of Stronger Delta.

Prayers were offered for the Governor and his family, not only for his administration to finish well and strong, but for a seamless transition according to the will of God and for the peace and stability of the state and the country.

The event was attended by Bishop Ben Eghaire, who was Guest Speaker, Bishop Sam Oyede (Adviser CCPLF), SA to Senator James Manager, Archbishop (Barr) Gimbert Adaigho, all Coordinators of LGAS, and PFF Choir of Delta South.

Also in attendance were the State Woman Leader of the group, Pastor (Mrs) Happy Nwachukwu, other members of the state executive of the group, DG of CCPLF, Evang A.P Ottah, Delta South Chairman Apostle (Dr) Liberty Usiayo, the National Coordinator of CCPLF Evang Emeke Egwuanimkwu, among others.
