Former presidnetial candidate, Adamu Garba's Crowwe was funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria, according to Peoples Gazette.

According to the platform, the Buhari administration provided seed capital for Adamu Garba's Crowwe app in a bid to control the digital narrative and provide an home grown solution to counter the dominance of social media giants like Facebook and Twitter in Nigeria.

According to the Gazettw, bank documents that carried a transfer of funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria to Mr Garba’s IPI Solutions, a software engineering firm were sighted by it. The company developed and deployed the Crowwe social media app.
