Picking a topic for a research project follows the same rules as choosing a title for any other piece of academic writing. If you want to choose a title for a blog or a web post, you must follow the same rule. You can come up with a title for your research paper once you've decided on a topic. The title should adhere to certain guidelines and possess certain traits that make it a good title. When choosing from a list of undergraduate research topics; The following qualities should be present in a title:

Project Topic Should be Informative

A title should be descriptive enough for readers to guess what they will find in the research report. It should be self-explanatory rather than ambiguous. In simple words, a research paper title should convey some notion about the research paper. The research paper should not have too many imprecise or generic titles. There is no need for elaborate words or long phrases in the title of a research paper. All you have to do now is come up with an instructive, precise word that best summarizes the information contained within.

Research Title should be a Phrase

A phrase rather than a sentence should be used as the title of a research report. A single sentence as a title divulges far too much information regarding the research work. The names of books and journals are always phrases, and a research paper is no exception. There is no requirement for punctuation at the end of the phrase.

Topic Should be Straightforward

The title's language and wording should be plain and easy to comprehend. Some students make the mistake of naming their research paper after imprecise terms. They believe that catchy titles will make them more desirable, but this is not the case. For a novel or an essay, catchy and cute names might work, but not for a research paper. Before employing too much technical language in the title, consider the audience.

Title should be Concise

A long title divulges far too much information about your research work. Details do not need to be included in your title; instead, you can provide them later in your thesis statement. Create a succinct and accurate title that serves as a research paper topic. The audience may become distracted if the research paper title contains too many specifics.

There is no punctuation
At the end of the research paper title, there is no need to include punctuation. A punctuation mark is unnecessary for a sentence; have you ever seen a punctuation mark at the end of a book title? Certainly not! If necessary, a colon or comma can be placed between the title phrase and the subheading.
Each word's first letter should be capitalized
Except for conjunctions, articles, and prepositions, capitalize the first letter of each word. The same concept holds true for any other title, such as a book or journal title. You do not need to use quote marks or underline the title.
It is therefore important to note the above points when writing or drafting research topics; this is because most project supervisors look out for these points and a host of others depending on your discipline, school and country.
