Your fellow Southerner is in a position to give you employment.

You go to him for employment.

You speak good English and write an excellent application letter to impress him.

He tells you to bring your qualifications.

You bring your First Degree (First Class or second class).

He tells you to go and do your Masters and even PhD for you to get the job.

ON THE OTHER HAND

A Northerner is in a position to give employment.

An Hausa Man goes to him.

He speaks Hausa to him.

He tells him to bring his qualifications.

He brings a third class degree or an SSCE with two Credits.

He gets the job and saves money to further his education.

He gets a Masters Degree while doing the job.

Tomorrow, he is appointed as Executive Director.

Ten years Later, he becomes Chairman or DG of the Agency.

The Southerner sees this and hates on the Hausa Man.

He accuses him of nepotism.

But that's not nepotism.

That's communalism.

Southerners must understand the difference between nepotism and communalism.

Helping your Brother to succeed is not nepotism.

Southerners just need to learn how to love one another like Northerners do.

Stop hiding opportunities from your people.

Northerners do not hide opportunities from their people.

Please don't come here to speak your long or short English against such a reality as this. I will block you instantly.

I know of a friend whom Senator Abaribe shamelessly couldn't assist get a job the same job other Northern Senators were signing for their district members to get.

The North has for long been engineering their supremacy, there are proves they have succeeded and so that's how we found ourselves where we are. It's sad you may not find any Southerner next in cadre for a position in some Federal agencies and so you can't simply bypass others next in cadre for that same position to favor a Southern candidate because their Senators have either sold their job slots to someone from another region just for money or they has concealed interest in helping members of their district get employment due for them because of their sheepish wickedness.

Some truths need to be told, God help us!

OP. What you wrote there is the undiluted truth.

You don't even need to be Hausa for a Hausa to assist you in getting into any government establishment. And usually with no strings attached. (Though this is highly reduced in recent times due to the state of the economy, unavailability of such job spaces and the highly polarised state of the Country).

Very few Southerners have this attribute.

For some, if they do assist, they'd expect some compensation in return.
For others, they just simply shut the door of
any potential chance of assistance to others once they get in.
But note, it's also the same for many minority tribes in the North, where influencial people rarely assist others.

I've observed it has a lot to do with cultural values.
