Are you one of the concerned individuals who are desperate to see that justice is established in all facets especially to the less privileged? Then IGC is a place to be. IGC, Initiative for Global Change registered under Nigerian law with RC. 759685 is a nongovernmental organization that is out to change the lives of individuals especially the helpless, the voiceless and indigent ones who have one way or the other fallen victims of the social injustice in the society. And with regards to the volunteers, you must be someone who is compassionate and human enough to bear the burden of others without necessarily wanting something in return. The organization, IGC also has a school called IGC Business School which is the training arm of all our organizations where we train and retrain volunteers and it’s headed by the founder and President, David Wole Owaboye, a legal practitioner, who is also the CEO of Morning Star Group and Principal Partner of a law firm Wole Owaboye & co. He is also the Senior Pastor of Restoration of Dominion Church and is well respected globally as an author and public speaker and has written many books including; how to become an Excellent Entrepreneur, Rules of Success, Taking Dominion, Becoming a Pacesetter amongst others. ● Vision: The NGO was born out of burning desire to give voice to the voiceless, help to the helpless and give the oppressed a fair chance at justice while enlightening the public to their human/civil rights. Primary focus: Individuals whose rights have been infringed and trampled upon and cannot afford the service of a lawyer; those people are our targeted audience. MISSION: ▪ Protecting and promoting the respect for human rights, rule of law and democratic institutions through judicial process. ▪ Capacity building through symposia, workshops, seminars, lectures by training people on entrepreneurial skill acquisition. ▪ Awareness creation through organizing national and international conferences through publications vide newsletter, articles in magazines and newspaper. ▪ To create and enhance maximum impact amongst the youth with a view of fostering mutual relationship and unity amongst same, taking into consideration and religious values. ● Trainings: IGC organizes trainings twice a week that are on Wednesdays and Saturdays at their Head office; No. 8 Kusimo Street, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos State. While Wednesdays are physical meetings, Saturdays are online trainings that are viewed globally. ● Sponsors: The organization at the moment is self-sponsored, though it has other affiliated bodies that through them gets mobilized like MORNING STAR PROPERTIES & WOLE OWABOYE & CO. Legal practitioners. ● DUTIES OF IGC VOLUNTEERS: 1. To attend both our virtual and physical meetings 2. To co-present with us in our programs, trainings, conferences etc. 3. Offering of Invaluable ideas towards fulfillment of the objectives of the IGC. 4. To be an IGC ambassador in their different communities. 5. To recruit other volunteers to join hands in our foundation. ● IGC VOLUNTEERS BENEFITS: As a volunteer, you have a lot of benefits which include wide range of knowledge from all our trainings which will help you tackle issues. You can be a beneficiary of our Business Empowerment grant and intervention fund on critical health challenges either directly or you recommend someone. You are also entitled to a branded T-shirt, accreditation cards to all our meetings/symposiums and a chance to attend all our events, general meetings and dinner plus a chance to meet with our MD/CEO and other important personalities. Please note that volunteers can only gain from these benefits when they have actively volunteered with us for at least six (6) months, which includes attending our meetings either physically or virtually while those outside Lagos are expected to show commitment by always being part of the virtual meetings and recruiting more volunteers within same period.
