The plateau command of the Nigeria Correctional Services (NCOS) has confirmed the escape of 4 inmates from the His custodial centre.

Samuel Aguda the controller-in-charge of the command confirmed this to journalists on Friday July 9 2021 in Jos.

Aguda said the escapees scaled the fence to made good their escape in the wee hours of Thursday 8th July and blamed negligence on the part of the personnel on duty.

He said the escapees were awaiting trial for armed robbery and kidnapping.

He said the command have Kick-started investigations to determine the immediate and remote causes of the escape.

"We have constituted a search party of locals and prison officials and we are determined to catch the escaped criminals and bring them back to face justice. The personnel on duty on the day of escape have been detained in the prison grounds pending the outcome of the investigations". Aguda confirmed.
