Big liars and thieves, even pegasus cannot effectively break WhatsApp encryption currently without some form of social engineering. They simply want to loot.

Calls and sms yes. But third party social media apps with encrypted chats, they have hack.

Yes sir, especially unpatriotic citizens and foreigners of security interest and national security threat.
We can't continue to have just few among us terrorising the nation with sedition, hate speech, scam , cyberbullying, defrauding, identity theft and kidnapping the rest of the law abiding, innocent and patriotic Nigerians and allow the security architecture to keep reacting instead of nipping them into the bud.

Abokki. See how you listed so many useless 'crimes' but only conveniently included kidnapping/banditry at the bottom of your foolish list. Because the kidnapping carried out by your Fulani brothers is Nigeria's least worrisome problem. Sedition and cyber whatever is more mportant to you savages up north than the more problematic violent crimes committed by your people. Rather than focus on telling us how the so-called communication interception tools would help us track your Fulani herdsmen kidnappers and bandits in the bushes (which is the biggest security threat facing ordinary Nigerians today), you're provocatively telling us about hate speech, sedition and cyber crimes. You people are ridiculous.

Rubbish.

A very good development.

This is done to ensure that criminals are tracked and captured to face the law, nothing is wrong with it.

But the challenge is that a clever person can avoid this by simply using voip app, gps emulator and as well as obfuscating IMEI information on the hardware and sending the law enforcers to wrong course.

No system is perfectly secure.

Hmmmmm it's no longer surprising that this present adminstration have completely lost it. It's plain and very unexplainable stupidity on the part of these thieving leaders to budget a whopping 4billion plus just to track call and other stuffs they intend that the NIA should monitored. My question therefore is "is this what this country needs at this time? My answer is capital NO. 4.88billion will go a very long ways to upgrade one or two teaching hospitals in Nigeria if well managed but what do we have? A government who is hell-bent on making itself a "monitoring spirits" to it's citizens.

A law that will not intercept calls and whatsapp messages of the bandits and the Bokoharam but will be effective in catching the yahoo boys and their political opponents in the south. The southern senators are the source of our problems. The fulanis know their weakness. Once they share money to them, they will be less concerned about the details of the bills and the interest of their own people. Useless nicompus selling the south cheaply to the fulani infested north. Yorùbá ronú

Honestly, it's like the south don't have people representing us.

This is just an avenue to loot. You'll see that after a few months they will parade a few criminals and claim they were caught because of intercepted calls and whatnot then a few months later nothing will be heard of the agency.

WhatsApp has end to end encryption. What that means is that the first time you send someone a WhatsApp message, both devices share encryption keys. This is what will be used in encrypting the messages and the only device that can decrypt it must have the encryption key for that purpose.

Anyone who has the means to decrypt end to end encrypted messages might well be the richest man in the world overnight.

There is a reason most developed countries control the export of cryptographic technology.

DPI could try to figure out the kind of data being transmitted in the packet but to tell what was transmitted is currently impossible especially when encryption is involved even given the latest improvements in computation.

So anyone who sold FG the idea, that they can intercept and read WhatsApp message is a crook.

Nobody sold the idea to the FG. There are Isreali companies reaping billions selling these Techs to governments.
It is not a scam. It works.
