Hiatus hernia is a condition in which part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm muscle,
part of the stomach pushes into the chest cavity. It enters via an opening where the food tube (oesophagus) passes on its way to the stomach.

Symptoms;
In some cases they may be associated with heartburn and abdominal discomfort.
Heartburn: this is the main symptom, the burning feeling which rises from the upper tummy (abdomen) or lower chest up towards the neck.
Pain in the upper abdomen and chest.
Feeling sick.
An acid taste in the mouth.
Bloating.
Belching.
Difficulty swallowing.
A burning pain when you swallow hot drinks.

Life time change:

Avoiding eating your dinner too close to bedtime it helps with symptoms at night. Aim to have your dinner at least three hours before you go to bed ideally.
