So they couldn't even kill or capture one of the insect and show us maybe we can tell it name.

Its a pity tho, bandits are stopping them from farming while insects are there busy devouring them crops.

If it was in advanced clime they would have deployed the organic strategy of releasing 100's of ducks into the field to feast on the insect.

I know in the content of Nigeria, it has to be insecticide to get rid of the rampaging insect.

The farmers should organise for an agricultural aircraft to spray the appropriate insecticide to curb it

The insect might spread to the other part of the state, even neighboring state if it's not controlled on time.

I am a non-muslim from one of the LGAs in question. These are areas in southern Kano where majority of indigenous non-muslim Hausas are located. This mess will affect more non-muslims than muslims, because we rely more on farming than they do. They call us 'manoma' meaning farmers to confirm this. Even if it affects only muslim farms, where is the joy in that? I choose to assume you are not a christian because we don't hate people, even those that clearly hate us. It is not Christ-like. I have two farms and may be affected. I pray God comes to our aid.

Why does this article make it sound like the locust insects are from outer space? Locusts have been on this earth and in Africa for thousands of years. They are not "strange".
