The 2021/2022 season will soon commence, and players are back to their various clubs. Many of these players who were loaned to other clubs have found their ways back to the squad, following the expiry of their contracts.
In a normal football squad, goalkeepers are generally the fewest in number due to the fact that their slot on the pitch of play do not exceed one. Defenders, midfielders and forwards can be more in number.
French giants, Paris Saint German has a lot of players on loan to other clubs, amongst these are so many goalkeepers. Following the return of these players, a record 9 goalkeepers are currently in their squad, their names are outlined below.
Firstly is Gianluigi Donnarumma who joined the club from AC Milan as a free agent on the 14th of July, 2020 after winning the EURO 2020 with Italy. The 22 year old signed a 5 years contract with the French side, which is expected to expire on the 30th of June, 2026.
Secondly is former Real Madrid goalie, Keylor Navas. He joined PSG on the 2nd of September, 2019 for €15 million, signing a 5 years deal expected to expire on the 30th of June, 2024.
Alphonse Areola is the third person on this list. He played for the club's youth team before being promoted to the senior team on the 1st of July, 2010. On the 2nd of September, 2020 he was loaned to Fulham for one year, a deal that expired on the 30th of June, 2010. His contract with PSG expires on the 30th of June, 2023.
The next person here is Spain's Sergio Rico. He was loaned to PSG from Sevilla on the 1st of September, 2019 for one year, before he was permanently signed by the club on 5th of September, 2020 in a deal worth around €6 million. Rico signed a 4 years deal with the French giants, which is expected to end on the 30th of June, 2024.
Alexandre Letellier who joined the club on the 15th of September, 2020 on a free transfer and his contract is expected to end on the 30th of June, 2022. Marcin Bulka also, a Polish international is in the squad. He joined the club on July 6, 2019 and his contract with them is going to end on the 30th of June, 2025.
The other three are Denis Franchi, Garissone Innocent and Lucas Lavallee. They all have contract with the club until 2023.
Who do you think PSG will choose as their first choice goalkeeper this coming season?
