Kano State Islamic Scholar Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasir Kabara has spent the first night in the custody of the state police.

Earlier, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa told BBC Hausa that the Sheikh had been arraigned before an Islamic Sharia court in the state, which had asked the police to remand him in custody until Monday, to be sent back to prison.
