Most times when parents see their children working on their craft, and chasing their dreams of becoming anything other than a formal profession, they conclude that the child cannot make it in life. But Emmanuella's story is proving that narrative wrong.

Emmanuella made her foray into comedy at the age of five. She was on a family holiday and met with Angel (Mark Angel). He needed some children for his comedy shoot, and called a few children he knew for the audition, but they couldn't memorize their lines and he then turned to Emanuella. It didn't take long to get her parents' approval and soon she became part of MarkAngel Comedy.

She became well known after the comedy skit "This is Not My Real Face Oh", in which she was making jokes about a headmistress to her fellow students without knowing the student was the child of the headmistress.This short skit was featured on CNN's Facebook page.


So far, Emmanuella has achieved a lot and she is just 11. She built a house for her parents. She owns cars, a Disney role, she has visited the National Assembly with special invite from Senate President, Bukola Saraki. And last but not the least, she won the 2021 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards for Favorite African Social Star.

Emmanuella has become a point of reference to other young children. She did not only make a name for herself, she brought her parents out of abject poverty. She has proven that kids can make it in life by chasing their own dreams.

Dear parents, this is your sign to allow your kids work on their craft. Be it music, art, comedy, writing and so many more. Stop dreaming for them. Stop thinking they must achieve that which you couldn't achieve when you were younger. They mustn't be a Medical Doctor, Lawyer, Chartered Accountant, or Engineer to be called 'successful' in life. Rather, pray for them that whatever path they take in life will be God's will for them, and that the Lord sees them through.


You had your time to chase your dreams when you were young. Now let these kids chase theirs. Let them live a little. Stop robbing them off their childhood because you want them to go after your OWN dreams.
