Ranking Of Countries In Africa That Produce The Most Beef (FAO) by Skoonheid(f): 11:16am On Jul 24, 2021
South Africa was the largest producer of beef in Africa in 2019 followed by Tanzania and Kenya.

Four (4) countries in Africa produced more than 1 billion pounds of beef in 2019.  Twenty six (26) countries in Africa produced more than 100 million pounds of beef in 2019.

South Africa accounted for roughly 16% of the beef produced in Africa in 2019.

Most of South Africa's cattle are raised under semi-extensive to extensive conditions.

Farmers, for example, might keep cattle on their poorer soils that are unsuited for planting or they might use the cattle to add value to grain production by allowing the animals to graze crop stubbles after the harvest or incorporating feeding crops in their crop rotations.

Regenerative farmers also use ultrahigh density grazing, also called strip grazing, because the movement of the animals over the land in combination with their urine and manure helps to improve soil life.

The commercial farmers who keep cattle can be differentiated into two groups, namely stud farmers or commercial farmers. Many of the stud farmers, however, also have a commercial herd to which they revert animals that fail to meet the criteria to be included in the stud.

The stud farmers produce pure-bred animals that are aimed at improving the genetic performance of animals. A commercial cattle farmer, for example, may buy offspring or semen of a specific stud bull to improve specific genetic traits in their herds.

Nigeria fulani terrorist government is busy beating about the bush for years ( like they have been doing for centuries as nomads) now trying to force RUGA , LIVESTOCK INTERVENTION, and whatever mephistophelian craft they can come up with to take over indigenous people's ancestral lands for their fulani brothers, without even having a kilogram of beef for export.
I pity those our oyel brothers down south. May they continue to deep sleep for eternity.

don't mind them

What they are actually practicing is terrorism/banditry/kidnapping not cattle rearing business.

South Africa= population: 58m 15% contribution + no herdsmen terrorism/banditry

But Nigeria=201m population only 5% contribution + insecurity of all kinds including terrorism sponsored by govt.

Even with all this statistics, some dumb Fulanis in the North still think the south needs them for meat. Importing meat from SA and Kenya is far cheaper than buying from Fulanis in Nigeria.

FG should lower tarrifs on importation of Agriculture and Diary products, it will drive down all this expensive foodstuffs in the market. People involve in Agriculture and Diary products have been giving enough time to grow and develop abegi

Nigeria not among the top five beef and milk producing countries in Africa.
Yet we have the greatest problem posed by cattle rearers who don't even know how to rear the cattle

It has been proved that the Nigerian-fulanis have a very poor leadership skills.

From 2023 they should take the back seat for @least 50years.. that's, if Nigeria will still be one

I've been saying this for long that Fulanis know little or nothing about cattle production. They're only using herding as a cover up to perpetrate their evil agenda.
