|A Nation In Doldrums. by Thales01: 9:42am On Jul 25|
O dear Nigeria,
Why dost thou in thy little strides bask
when thy counterparts keeping
Sprinting forward in the race of progress?
Once upon a time,thou roared
And thy counterparts cowered
in reverence at thy unassailable might.
Why hast thy mighty roars into moans softened?
Nature that adorned thee with a myriad of resources
And made thee,among thy peers the cynosure
Of envy now cringes at what thou hath become;
From thy abode,Peace and Justice hath taken flight like a bird
perched on a twig unperturbed until it is startled.
Terror now seated upon the throne of the land grins
As he hears the agonizing wails of his hapless captives,
In shackles bound,pounding relentlessly
Against the iron bars of their unforgiving dark dungeon.
The gloomy sky above echoes
with the unceasing cries of the innocent;
The mournful earth below with the blood
Of her offsprings has been begrimed.
O God in heaven when will thou
harken unto the voice of the oppressed?
