Living with kidney illness necessitates proper nutrition and diet. One of the best things you can do to help control your disease and keep it from progressing is to eat a healthy, balanced diet. But don't worry; a kidney-friendly diet doesn't have to be boring. To help you change up your meal plan, we've collected a list of our best kidney-friendly recipes:
Salad with Hawaiian Chicken

The Yields: 4 servings

Serving size: 3/4 cup

The Ingredients

1/2 Cup Diced Celery

1-1/4 Cups In shreds Head of Lettuce

1-1/2 Cups Sliced Cooked Chicken

1 Cup All in Unsweetened Pineapple Chunks

Directions

In a mixing dish, combine the celery, lettuce, chicken, and pineapple.

Mix together the sugar, lemon juice, mayonnaise, Tabasco, and pepper.

Toss in with the chicken mixture to combine.

Serve on a lettuce leaf with paprika on top.

Chicken with Jalapeno Peppers

The Yield: 8 servings

Serving size: 3 ounces

The Ingredients

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

2-3 pounds chicken cut up (skin than fat detached)

1 onion, divided into rings

1 ½ cups low-sodium chicken bouillon

½ teaspoon minced nutmeg

¼ teaspoon gloomy pepper

2 teaspoons garden-fresh jalapeño peppers, finely sliced then seeded

1/2 tsp. Sugar

2 tsp. Lemon Juice

Directions

Heat the oil and brown the chicken pieces before setting them aside to keep warm.

Sauté the onion rings in the oil. Bring the bouillon to a boil, stirring often.

Return the chicken to the pan and season with nutmeg and black pepper. Cover and cook for 35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Simmer for another minute after adding the jalapeno peppers.

Steak Salisbury’

The Yield: 4 servings

Serving size: 3 ounces

The Ingredients

1 pound sliced steak or lean milled beef, chicken or turkey

1 small onion, sliced

½ cup green pepper, sliced

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

½ cup water

1 tablespoon corn starch

1/2 cup Mayonnaise

Dash Tabasco Paste

1/4 tsp. Pepper

Paprika

Directions

Combine the meat, onion, green pepper, black pepper, and egg in a mixing bowl. Make patties out of the mixture.

In a skillet, heat the oil, then add the patties and fry on all sides.

Simmer for 15 minutes after adding half of the water. Remove the patties from the pan.

Add the remaining water and corn starch to the meat drippings. To thicken the gravy, continue to cook while stirring.

Serve the steak with gravy while it's still hot.

Bell Peppers with Turkey Stuffing:

The Yields: 4 servings

Serving size: 1 pepper half

The Ingredients

2 medium green bell peppers (red, if chosen)

1 tablespoon oil

1/2 cup finely sliced onion

12 ounces milled turkey

1/4 teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon. Dash Italian Seasoning

1 cup cooked rice

2 tablespoons chafed Parmesan cheese

¼ cup egg extra

Directions

Remove the tops and seeds from the bell peppers. 5 minutes in boiling water, or until tender. Remove the fish from the water. Set aside and allow to cool.

In a skillet, heat the oil, and cook the onion until soft. Brown the turkey flesh well. Excess fluids and fat should be removed.

Toss in the cooked rice and seasonings. Make a thorough mix.

Half the peppers and set them in a shallow baking dish. Fill each pepper half with 3/4 cup meat/rice.

Top with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 25-30 minutes.
