https://gazettengr.com/nigerian-youths-jobless-because-theyre-not-willing-to-work-gov-masari/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina has excoriated Nigerian youths suggesting they are unwilling to work, thus responsible for deplorable level of unemployment in Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari, some years ago, had expressed a similar view describing Nigerian youths as lazy at an international forum. Messrs Masari and Buhari are from Katsina and belong to the same ruling All Progressives Congress. Mr Masari’s claim came days after a World Bank report indicated that the unemployment rate in Nigeria had risen to the highest level. On Channels TV, Mr Masari accused the youths of whining and displaying a sense of entitlement. “People tend to say there is no work. Who told you there is no work? There is work to a willing mind. Mr Masari’s claim is in sharp contrast to many people’s view that the nation’s youngsters are industrious and enterprising. Apart from Mr Masari accusing the youths of being unwilling to work, his party has often blamed the previous administration at the national level for the country’s economic woes and insecurity.

I've seen boys willing to work but no work, willing to start up little business but no capital and the environment is unfriendly. Even the ability to innovate new ideas is not selling because publicity requires huge capital. Thing is, the CBN needs to artificially print enough currency to empower productive youths not yahoo youths. When those fellas are empowered and their business begins to yield, those artificial currency would then be justified. |

rolams:from my experience, you see katsina people, zaria people and benue people, I've had first hand encounter with them. They brag a lot about being ghost workers and are not willing to quit that life anytime soon. They enjoy receiving pay without working, ask anybody who knows people from this places I just mentioned. |

jumper524: You don't blame Buhari, Masari and all these northern bozos. It's not their fault. All around them in the north are hordes and hordes of unemployable, uneducated almajiris walking about. So, they probably assume that's how it is all over the country. |

That's true to some level, even if you give them jobs, many are not ready to work. Find them jobs, today, some will be looking for how to steal, kidnap or kill the owner tomorrow. They prefer yahoo- Yahoo, illegal drug dealing, investing 50k now and gets back 200k return in just two hours kind of business and ritualism to make money. No don't want businesses will the small profits. This is negative effect of unregulated or unproperly entertainment shows, social network and poor University/polytechnic turn out on yearly basis. |

I totally agreed with him because if the youths are wiling to work, the incompetent Masari and his clueless Oga in Aso rock would have been chased out of power for non-performance, and that's why the turn around to mock the youths. |

All these old fools can't stop insulting the youth, it's not their fault, if not because of zombies they wouldn't smell power. |
