Israeli Film maker, Rudy Rochman, French Israeli Journalist, David Banaym, and American-Israeli Camera man, Andrew Leibman, have recounted their horrible ordeal in Nigeria at the hands of the DSS. They were interviewed at Ben Gurion International Airport on arrival, by Israeli News channel, ILTV

The three Israeli filmmakers claimed that they had flown into Nigeria to film a Documentary called "we were never lost" documenting African tribes that claim to have Jewish links. Nigeria was just the first of several African countries they had planned to visit. Rochman said that they had gone to Anambra State with Jewish Holybook, the Sefer Torah, and were warmly received and even introduced to an Igbo king.

Trouble started on their second night in Anambra after they had worshipped at a synagogue and returned to their Hotel room. DSS invaded the Hotel brandishing machine guns and took the three men to their office. The next morning, all three men were blindfolded, bundled into cars and taken on a 9 hour drive from Anambra to Abuja where they were locked up in a cell at the DSS Headquarters.

The men were held for 20 days in DSS custody without anyone telling them what they had done wrong. After 20 days in custody, the three men were deported to Israel. The men thanked the Igbo Jewish community who provided them with kosher food during detention, and also the Israeli, French and American embassies that helped facilitate their release

When asked why they had been treated this way, Rudy Rochman said that Biafran separatists had gone on social media to say that the Sefer Torah he brought to Anambra, was a sign that Biafra was going to come. He however said that they were just filmmakers who were in Nigeria to make a documentary about Igbo Jews, and were not involved in Biafra in any way

All three men expressed happiness to be back in Israel but vowed to visit other African countries to complete their documentary

So, they were even allowed to be served special delicacies by the Igbo -Jewish community ? This is good and a sign that they were well treated by the DSS. I doubt if Israel as a nation would grant this level of freedom to any of their own detainee[b].
