The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has posted 1,800 corps members to bandits-plagued Zamfara under the 2021 Batch B, Stream 1 of the programme.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has posted 1,800 corps members to bandits-plagued Zamfara under the 2021 Batch B, Stream 1 of the programme.

Zamfara has witnessed several killings and kidnaps wrought by bandits.

The NYSC coordinator in Zamfara, Namalam Muhammad-Taura, disclosed this on Monday at the swearing-in ceremony of the corps members at the permanent orientation camp in Tsafe, Tsafe local government area.

“On behalf of the NYSC DG Brig. Gen. Shua’ibu Ibrahim, I congratulate you on the successful completion of your academic endeavours from your various institutions of higher learning,” said Muhammad-Taura. “My dear compatriots, your call to the national service is an opportunity given to you by Nigerians, through the scheme, to contribute your own quota towards making this nation great.”

Mr Muhammad-Taura further noted that the NYSC designed its orientation course as a platform for physical and mental training of youths to face challenges of the service year and beyond.

He commended the Zamfara government and the public for supporting the NYSC’s operations. The NYSC coordinator also lauded camp officials, security agencies and other stakeholders.

Corps member serving in zamfara and other places prone to terror and insecurity, need special training, like our armed forces, so they'll bee fully armed and battle ready.
At least a year in counter insurgency training, plenty guys go like run that course instead of pishue snapping training.

I read that 300 corpers were killed and another 300 abducted enroute few days ago.

My sincere advice to new southern graduates is simple; boycott NYSC!
U are not serving a nation. This is no longer a country. They don't put human lives first, if not, they'd not have stopped corpers from choosing where they want to serve. And they would have ended the NYSC activities indefinitely in terror-troubled areas.

It's common sense. The onslaught against christians is real ...d fulanization and jihad is real. Of what use is NYSC after spending so many years in school? If you feel that serving ds clowntry is more important than ur life...I wish you godspeed.

Anyone who goes to serve in Zamfara and other kidnap prone states has himself or herself to blame
