Seven deputy national officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned in protest against what they called “poor leadership”, TheCable can report.

They promised to remain loyal to the PDP but said they will not be able to work with the current national working committee (NWC), an insider told TheCable.

Those who resigned include the deputy national financial secretary, the deputy legal adviser, the deputy national auditor, the deputy national publicity secretary, the deputy women leader and the deputy organising secretary.

TheCable could not confirm the seventh officer.

They particularly alleged that there is a lack of financial transparency in th eleadership, TheCable learnt.

A member of the NWC confirmed the resignation to TheCable but said a statement would be issued after an emergency meeting.

The sincere truth is, time is too short to mobilise a serious party for 2023 presidential elections and my fear now is...this nonsense APC will appear to be the only viable option in 2023...We are finished!

People calling on PDP to take power from APC are only deceiving their self because PDP already know that they are not ready to take up the power, because they are not ready to learn from their previous mistake that brought the nation into this mess.
If Nigeria will still remain one, I pray for godly minded people to be elected come 2023

Why is that all those that resigned are deputies? Their resignation is inconsequential as long as they are mere deputies. This resignations is orchestrated to remove Second us and nothing more. PDP is very good at resolving issues and its a more better party than APC
