Abba Kyari, Nigeria Police Corrupt Tendencies and Its Flagrant Abuse of Power. by Nathojobs90: 7:52am On Aug 04, 2021
You know why this Abba Kyari's thing is good for Nigeria? It is exposing the corrupt nature of the Nigerian Police. From the top echelon of the Nigerian Police to the bottom, are very corrupt Police Officers who would arrest and detain a person for no just reason and for as long as the Complainant (the person who reported the case to witch-hunt the arrested person) has money and he/she can afford to keep servicing the Nigerian Police. Worse still, the Police will do all of these brazenly without apologies and still threaten you. It is even better that the Kyari's issue has an international flavour so that it will expose the nonsense in our Police Force to the whole world.

I'd give you a narrative similar to Kyari's. A man has been/is being detained for over 4 months for allegations of having killed someone (a total and complete lie). The Police has not shown any evidence of the death of the person, has not shown how the detained man killed the person claimed to be killed and worse still, the family of the person claimed to be killed have buried their dead and are not aware that anyone is being detained for the death of their son (as their son died from natural health complications). The Complainant in this case has money to throw around, and trust the majority of our Policemen, all sense of human reasoning and respect for Law will be thrown away at the sight of money. After over 4 months, the detained person has not been charged to court (clearly because the Police does not have any evidence or basis upon which to charge the detained man to Court) but they have decided to keep the man for over 4 months. To make matters worse, the AIG, INTERPOL once mentioned to us that no matter what we do, he will never release the man in detention. This is a case where a Petition has been written to the IGP and the Police Service Commission (the topmost disciplinary body of Police Officers) against the INTERPOL for the illegal arrest of the detainee. For a Police Man to make that kind of statement, you'd know that he has all the backing she can get from within the Police Force to continue perpetrating his illegal and wicked act. Happily, the FCT High Court has ordered for the release of the detained man by tomorrow (5th August, 2021), and while it is known that the Police have been mostly lawless (especially for an organ of state that are referred to as Law Enforcement Agents), we await to see whether the Police will want to disrespect an Order of Court and not release the detained man as ordered.

Finally on Abba Kyari, the man is just a victim of circumstance (though in a good way, as I believe that such as has befallen him now is in order) and the majority of those at the top hierarchy of the Nigerian Police are same, if not worse, than him. Hopefully, more of such ugly revelations, especially of his superiors, will be made in order that the Police is rid off the ugly elements within it and sanity, justice and respect for the Rule of Law is restored.

NIGERIA MUST NOT FAIL!
