...the court finds in favour of the claimant and demand that the respondent a (large public company) must pay damages and return the claimants property.
Respondent file notice of appeal claiming the court is wrong and that the respondent does not have the property.
The case never gets anywhere for years.
Years later the respondent's family takes a chance and write a letter to the company asking that the property be returned. The person receiving the letter does not know about the case and wrote back that they indeed have the property and ask for an address to where it should be returned thus exposing the lie to the court . (They had the property all the time.)
Was it a crime?
Hypothetically speaking can this be pursued by another party ( not the respondent) that suffered damages due to the action\ inaction of the respondent?

Any lawyers on board? : Why do people advise something that is obvious? Have you considered why the question was asked? Maybe council was asked and the answer needs a second opinion.
