Hey you. Trust me, if a fortune teller told me I would be in duste, Jigawa state for my service year, I would have said "Na Lie" On Thurs, I boarded a 6am plane flight to kano from Lagos. Then connect from kano city to Jigawa camp in fanisau. A lot happened and its still happening! From Hausa boys in my room, Platoon members lazy AF, soldiers dealing with corpers and me patiently hoping my redeployment works....because  ??Stay Tuned. 1 Like

Day 1 - Up North! My journey from lagos to kano was very smooth. I booked my plane via aero air 5 days before my flight for around N36k. Under 2 hours, I was in kano and hailing cabs to go to jigawa state. Ommoo. Na there the wahala start. The hausa drivers has connived with each other to take no less that 5k to get to the kano bus park. Or if you want direct, you pay 20k for the full cab. This means each corper will pay no less than pay 5k to go anywhere. Tah! Anyway. We called someone I know to come drive us out but he says we will have to wait for a few hours. We did not wait, there was a better plan. He negotiated for us in Hausa. And a deal of 3k was mediated. Back story: we are three graduates that planned this journey. We all met online, payed the same day for aero air and landed on the tarmac together. Now back to our hausa driver who took us out of the airport. After the quick stop, we got thr park and guess how much was Kano to Jigawa?? N800 !!! OMOOO. SEE DWINDLE. Anyway, we took a cab and payed 6 grand in total. Sleep came and did its thing. 20 mins to ETA, i woke up to begin my Jigawa experience in Dutse camp. |
