In a sane country, when you see a police man, you feel relaxed, but Nigeria own is different.

Not necessarily true. A lot don't feel relaxed when they encounter police even here in the US.

Nigerians always complaining about their leaders and police as if they were imported from another society.
Your police and political leaders are just a microcosm of what you are.
Change all politicians and police today with these ones on NL and it will be even worse.
Until people change, nothing changes.

Nigeria police are gutterbred devils but also the Nigeria population are fledging illiterates.

Why won't Chijioke's lawyer sue the police for wrongful arrest?

With all the proof there is, it's a straight forward case, no DPO or dirty inspector like being a party to a case in hight court.

Nigerians like crying like little wimps but won't sacrifice time to defend themselves.

Me i believe that is why after the retire they go poor, sick and forgotten by even their family members. Because of the innocent life they have killed or send to prison.
yanabasee1:
There was a time... many years ago...

A friend of mine went to his neighbor house to charge his gadgets... the compound was very close to the university and we stayed off camp...

So there was this cultism clash and some scores were recorded .. Seems the news got to the state governor who ordered the state commanding officer to ensure that the culprits are brought to book ...

So the order was passed to the station closed by and they came raiding the compound alone...

Their initial number needed was about 20guys.. My friend who was going to take his bath was apprehended and his sponge was used to tie him up.. a guy who had graduated and left the state who came to visit his gf was also picked up and about 19 guys were picked up from the compound... the female students living in the compound weren't arrested...

On their way back, they saw a young man who was buying suya by the roadside and the stepped down from the vehicle and picked him too.. making the number 20...

These people were taken to the station from there they invited some newspaper agency to come snap them and guns and other items were placed before them... to be captured as cultists...

No investigation was carried out... no due process was observed.. no arrest warrant was issued ..

Inside the prison, He said he met someone who was arrested while returning from the farm and was shot at the leg.. because there was a criminal attack to one rich man's house in his area which he wasn't aware...

The police force needs a good settings for it to function.

ATTAHDYE:
The police extorted 10k from me 2 days ago. We where driving a car with a custom made tinted glass and based on the new rules, if your tint is custom made you don't need permit.

The OC on that team insisted that it was not a custom made and if he takes us to the station there is nothing we can do since the police has equally banned issuing new tint permits.

After weighing all the uncertainties that may follow if we go to the station( like in the story above), we paid them the 10k. And I feel into additional depression afterwards.

There are many issues in this country but we can do better with a more civil police or without a police that is at the forefront of triggering public annoyance between the poeple and the government.

Most Nigerians are underpaid just like members of the police force and there is no justification for them to insist on extorting the other group at every given opportunity.

Just to correct this. Please read it again on their website, you need a tint permit even if your vehicle came with a factory tint how much more a custom one.

That is why I believe there's more to the story, how can police arrest the person that took the phone and continue to detain him and ask to pay for the phone.
