The developed countries of the world cherish their education system, they constantly review and reform the curriculum in line with the present demand, growth and trend.
No wonder their students are well equiped with both knowledge and skills, and technologically informed. I have heard from at least five lecturers who said they were taken aback and embarrassed while they went for academic conference in some pf those countries, because so many things were so new to them, therefore they couldn't operate gadgets but a secondary student can easily work on.
Recently in U.S.A, schools have included Information literacy, Life and career skills into their curriculum.
But in Nigeria, we are still operating the curriculum that was designed in the 19th century with just little changes.
NERDC and our scholars should wake up because jobs that will be available in the future is beyond "What is Chemistry?".

What is your opinion?

Speaking as someone in the developed world, what actually happens is teachers and bureaucrats jump onto whatever ridiculous fad is popular at the time, paying no attention to whether or not it helps students learn. These new practices generally make things worse, but even the rare successful ones are replaced in turn by the next foolish idea to come along. Count your blessings, my friend! There are things far worse than "19th century education".
