The McLaren Speedtail shares inspiration from it’s legendary McLaren F1 that won the best races especially the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Its interior has a spaceship like aura, as the start button, doors and windows controls are above the driver’s head, with screens left and right for navigation, for the Bowers and Wilking audio system with smaller screens for HD cameras as side mirrors are not used. The HD cameras pop out of the door when the Speedtail is started. With a price tag of $2.1 million and limited production of 106 cars, it’s all sold out.
McLaren Speedtail is equipped with a 4.0L twin turbo-charged V8 engine with a hybrid electric motor that boost 1070 hp controlled by 7- speed dial clutch automatic transmission gearbox. The Speedtail reaches top speed of 250 mph (403 km/h) that accelerates from 0- 186 mph in 12.8 seconds making McLaren Speedtail the fastest accelerating car in the McLaren’s stable. The McLaren Speedtail is McLaren’s first ever Hyper- GT (Gran Turismo).
Getting into the driver’s seat is where the fun begins, as the driver’s seat is located in the center with two passengers seating side by side of the driver. The dihedral door opens up to a sort of spaceship cockpit with the only goal of getting hands on the steering wheel. The Speedtail is equipped with electrochromic glass that darkens when the hypercar is started at the push of a button.
