NEWSREPORT: MISEDUCATED NEGRO displaying RUBBISH. Anybody who thinks it was white people that built ''the first storey building in Eastern Nigeria'' or in Nigeria, is an IGNORANT, MISEDUCATED person. This is what happens when you people don't read your history. You remain stupid, ignorant, and mentally subservient to ''white people''. First off, the Benin Empire, specifically Benin City, was reported by visitors to have storey buildings as early as the 15th century!!! A full 400 years BEFORE the British arrived Nigeria on their looting mission. Any chance that in those 400 years, an Igbo man, assuming he did not know, picked up from the Benin people, just a few kilometres north of him, how to build storey buildings? OF COURSE many storey buildings would have existed in Igboland if they existed in Benin, as was confirmed in this UK Guardian report: “Houses [In Benin] are built alongside the streets in good order, the one close to the other,” writes the 17th-century Dutch visitor Olfert Dapper. “Adorned with gables and steps … they are usually broad with long galleries inside, especially so in the case of the houses of the nobility, and divided into many rooms which are separated by walls made of red clay, very well erected.” Dapper adds that wealthy residents kept these walls “as shiny and smooth by washing and rubbing as any wall in Holland can be made with chalk, and they are like mirrors. The upper storeys are made of the same sort of clay. Moreover, every house is provided with a well for the supply of fresh water”. https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2016/mar/18/story-of-cities-5-benin-city-edo-nigeria-mighty-medieval-capital-lost-without-trace This is how many hundreds of years ago? And then now, courtesy of colonial brainwashing, you come here to present this stupid, useless colonial contraption from 1925 and declare it the ''first storey building in Eastern Nigeria''. I mean, the depths of shamelessness, ignorance, and zero self-esteem among you people is shocking. Whoever did this to you has a lot to answer for. Lost people. 1 Like |

NEWSREPORT: Ignorant dunce, what has the present got to do with whether the past occurred or not? Do you even know the meaning of History? Do you know your history as an 'African'? Useless loafer. Too lazy and dumb to learn your own history. Sure, go and worship your white man who supposedly ''built your first storey building'' in 1925, despite the fact your ancestors have been building storey buildings since the pyramids 7,000 plus years ago!! Mumu people. Whoever cursed you to disregard your heritage has a serious case to answer. TUFIAKWA. 1 Like |

NEWSREPORT: Did you actually read the reference? It wasn't ME saying the Benin people built this or that. It was the ancient European visitors. And the source of the report was the UK Guardian Newspaper. This is not about ME. This is about your H-I-S-T-O-R-Y. Also reported was that ''Indeed, they classified Benin City as one of the most beautiful and best planned cities in the world....In 1691, the Portuguese ship captain Lourenco Pinto observed: “Great Benin, where the king resides, is larger than Lisbon; all the streets run straight and as far as the eye can see. The houses are large, especially that of the king, which is richly decorated and has fine columns. The city is wealthy and industrious. It is so well governed that theft is unknown and the people live in such security that they have no doors to their houses.” ''Benin City was also one of the first cities [on Earth] to have a semblance of street lighting. Huge metal lamps, many feet high, were built and placed around the city, especially near the king’s palace. Fuelled by palm oil, their burning wicks were lit at night to provide illumination for traffic to and from the palace.'' ''At the centre of the city stood the king’s court, from which extended 30 very straight, broad streets, each about 120-ft wide. These main streets, which ran at right angles to each other, had underground drainage made of a sunken impluvium with an outlet to carry away storm water. Many narrower side and intersecting streets extended off them.'' https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2016/mar/18/story-of-cities-5-benin-city-edo-nigeria-mighty-medieval-capital-lost-without-trace ......... So this is your HISTORY - wealth - security - street lights - underground drainage - storey buildings. Hundreds of years before your ''colonial master'' came. Your history which you don't know, because you are too busy looking for some white folk who taught you to call them ''colonial master'', to credit for supposedly building your ''first storey building in 1925''. Tragic. |

NEWSREPORT: You mean what have ''YOU'' built? You see, in the real world, you don't get to sit in some corner ordering everyone else who is 'black' to ''build something'' while you judge in your laziness, ignorance, and mental inertia, doing absolutely nothing. People are building. One young guy in Lagos established a startup that was bought by Stripe for 200 million dollars cash. That guy had never stepped foot out of Nigeria before starting that firm. Some Nigerians are building cars, SUVs, trucks, warships, and even helicopters, right here in Nigeria, by recent news. So what are YOU building is the question for YOU, not for Nigerians or 'black people'. YOU. |

Hope you don't transmit your mental poison to your children. It would be child abuse. The ''level of advancement in the white man's land''. WTF. You sound like someone out of a bush. Unlike you, I've spent decades in that ''white man's land'', and I can school you on it. One thing is certain. There is nothing extraordinarily advanced about their societies that is not being replicated in Africa as we speak. In that white man's land there are thousands of white people picking from dustbins to eat. Many are street beggars. Many are homeless and sleeping rough on the streets. Many are hooked on multiple drugs. Millions are drowning in debt. |

NEWSREPORT: But black Africans invented MATHEMATICS, WRITING, SPEECH, and were the very first scientists and explorers. Without their pioneering work over thousands of years when whites were still in the caves, there would be no modern technology to speak of today. As Lady Lugard, the historian wife of your ''colonial master'' wrote, "When the history of Negroland comes to be written in detail, it may be found that the kingdoms lying towards the eastern end of Sudan (classical home of Ancient Ethiopians) were the home of races who inspired, rather than of races who received, the tradition of civilization associated for us with the name of ancient Egypt. For they cover on either side of the Upper Nile between the latitudes of ten degrees and seventeen degrees, territories in which are found monuments more ancient than the oldest Egyptian monuments. If this should prove to be the case and civilized world be forced to recognize in a black people the fount of its original enlightenment, it may happen that we shall have to revise entirely our view of the black races, and regard those who now exist as the decadent representatives of an almost forgotten era, rather than as the embryonic possibility of an era yet to come." "The fame of the ancient Ethiopians (ancient Kushites) was widespread in ancient history. Herodotus described them as the ...most beautiful and long-lived of the human races, and before Herodotus, Homer, in even more flattering language, described them as the most just of men, the favorites of the gods. The annals of all the great early nations of Asia Minor are full of them. The Mosaic records allude to them frequently; but while they are described as the most powerful, the most just, and the most beautiful of the human race, they are constantly spoken of as Black, and there seems to be no other conclusion to be drawn than at that remote period of history, the leading race of the Western World was a Black race." NEWSREPORT: Dumbo, you no get brain? Human civilization and development is a continuum that does not stop with one race or nationality or region. Africa cannot be expected to lead FOREVER. No race leads forever. All rise and fall and others take over from where they left off. The modern world is existing as a result of contributions from ALL corners of the Earth, past and present. The Industrial Revolution happened in Europe in the 18th century. Barely 300 years ago. Prior to that was thousands of years of ingenuity and developments upon which that revolution was based. Without those earlier advancements, in writing, mathematics, sciences, alchemy, mining of minerals, seafaring, architecture, trade, medicine, philosophy, laws, etc - which all began in Africa, there would be no industrial revolution, and no modern world, so it is wrong to see modern technology as solely ''the white man's'' achievement. It is HUMANITY'S achievement. Stop reasoning like a toddler who walks by a grand mansion and sees a couple of guys painting the exterior, and you shout ''those two men built that mansion!'' |
