Mcleo007:iam not quite sure what you guys mean by world class. Rojo has been excellent for argentina. If he was playing in the epl or la liga I bet we'd be calling him 'world class' I will not quit saying this, argentina's defence has been wonderful. The cliche is always 'argentina have a bad defence aand 'good attackers'' what good attackers? Aguero has been unseen! Higuain has been below average!de maria has been hot and cold! Lavezzi has not been decisive! Only messi has been good his only hinderance is that he's still not a striker or CF. He always has to run in. Now how about garay, masherano, fernandez, rojo, zabaleta or even demicheles? Believe it or not they ve been superb! The suspect area is the midfield. Just borrow a guy like riquelme of then or veron and put in that midfield in order to free up messi to play closer to the goal and I swear this argentina will lift that trophy. 1 Like |

The Dutch were conservative last night because of Messi. He (Messi) is so great that coaches change their tactics when playing against Argentina and Barcelona; just because of one player. The Germans won't dare to unleash their full attacking play on Argentina because of Messi. If they try to do so, Messi would end up feasting on their 'weak' defense. With Di Maria most likely going to be fit for the final; Aguero already back from injury; and the Argentine defense getting its right rhythm in time, the Germans will have to work hard to stop an attack made of Messi, Di Maria, Aguero and Higuain. That the final is holding in the Maracana is another advantage for Argentina. It means: these players would be ready to give their all, not only because of Argentina, but also, to ridicule Brazil (their bitter rivals) and make Brazilians cry in their own national stadium. Seems like you guys take form and class to mean the same thing. No they're different! An individual can hit or lose form during a tournament which spans for a few weeks .,that doesn't translate to mean class. PLAYERS like DiMaria and Aguero may not have had an excellent tournament, but that doesn't speak little of their class. It's like saying Penaldo is an overrated player on the account that his team didn't make it past the group stage... or like the road side argument by ignorant folks that Messi is nothing without Xavi and Iniesta. |

I wonder why there is so much hating on Argentina! Before the Belgium, their coach was blabbing nonsense, then after the game, all their players started saying their own lamentations! Most of the Belgium players even went ahead to say Netherlands will scatter Argentina! Now again, them Netherland players have started their own lamentations, they are even accusing Argentina of playing defensively, meanwhile everybody saw who started defensively (Netherland) And they have also said Germany will win them! This ballon d'or and greatest player talk is really cracking me though Which do you guys really want, Messi winning WC or winning ballon d'or? I'm sure Messi will forego the latter for the former without giving it a thought. As for the greatest player tag (I don't really fancy such a term though as football is a never ending game), it's relative. Should Argentina win the WC, there'll still be some critics with different views. I hope he (Messi) wins it though but honestly, Germany are favourites, that team is damn compact and good. |

Higuain is a very feared striker, Zabaleta was the best right back in the EPL last season, Lavezzi is above average and Ezequiel Garay one of the most stable centerbacks in Europe is 'just there' ?
