I'd expect you to bring the season by season stats to buttress your point.

But you wouldn't.

For example, CR7 scored once in his first 21 champions league games with Sporting Lisbon/Manchester Utd as a winger/midfielder. Messi scored once in his first 9 games with Barca playing beside Ronaldinho, Xavi, and Iniesta; after training since 13 at La Masia.

Take 21 and 9 from their total number of games played and look how different the stats look.

Do your research! Mk laziness no baptize you.

You are talking about goal scoring, he gets bested on goal/game ratio... What else should we discuss again... Infact when he scores 91 goals in a calender year I would have the appetite to start the discuss or go into details with you... EOD

I went through real Madrid's thread yesterday and could hardly see barca trolls commenting in that thread, infact the few ones that tried to comment were all shut out, so how come they are always flocking this our thread just to troll? Why can't they mind their business in there own thread?
I guess we also need to take time out to invade there thread and give them the doze of what they give others and see how it feels when you don't mind your own business.

More and more excuses!

Look who is making excuses.

- Messi was never a regular from 2006-2009 yet they want to count that period.

LM10 Appearances (All Comps)

2006/2007 - 36
2007/2008 - 40
2008/2009 - 51
2009/2010 - 53

CR7 Appearances (All Comps)

2006/2007 - 53
2007/2008 - 49
2008/2009 - 53
2009/2010 - 35

You were saying?

-For the past 3 years Messi has been playing as a midfielder while Ronaldo has been playing as a striker,
and yet they want to count that period.

MSN was just broken late last year, so how is Messi a midfielder? Yes, he drops back, but he has a free role. His playing style has changed as has CR7. Counts for little because both Barca and RM are built around LM10 and CR7 respectively to suit them.

It's not like CR7 didn't play as a midfielder at Manchester United. When your strike partners are Benzemiss and Balinjury, why on earth should CR7 drop back. Compare that to Neymar and Suarez for LM10.

No excuses, Messi is King in Ronaldo's domain.

Both CR7 and LM10 have been called magicians, geniuses, unbelievable players only one has been called a goal machine. Left, right, head, doesn't matter. 2 yards out or 40 yards out. Tap-ins or screamers. EIGHT Perfect Hattricks versus Messi's ZERO tells the whole story. There is only one goal machine on the planet. You know who he is.

Make una argue another thing jare.

With a Ucl draw like this, busquet and Roberto can both deliberately receive a yellow card to miss d second leg and avoid being suspended for d semis

Exactly. But it seems like Busquets might miss the 1st leg sef. I hope he gets fit soon enough so that he can get that yellow card during the 1st leg grin

Too early for treble talk.. Let's get to the semis first, I noticed our team gets supercharged whenever we get into the semis, only 2008 was the exception since 2003, I think that tito year vs bayern was the quarters right... So too early for treble talk... Pipe low expectations, then we take it from there

Nah, semi final. But that can be excused. There was just too much on field and off field problems at that time.

Would you be kind enough to give us the minutes played per game in all his appearances between 2006 and 2009?
he was always coming in as a sub, playing 25 to 30 mins.

And then the MSN!
The MSN made Messi a winger didn't it?
The very same excuse you wanna make for Ronaldo.

You can't wish that away! For the last 3 years Ronaldo has been a striker basically and Messi a midfielder basically.

Ronaldo is a goal machine alright, if this makes you feel better. The world sees him very much that way because besides the goals he scores he is useless.

But a closer and more careful look at the stats shows that Messi is the real goal machine.

Maybe machine means another thing in your language.

In English, it means consistency; year in, year out. Which means he should have been able to meet that unbelievably high record annually to be considered a machine--90+/-10 every year.

Instead he went from 91 in 2012 to 45 in 2013 and 58 in 2014.

2012 was a freak year for Messi. It was amazing but he'd never achieve it again. Yet CR7 keeps breaking CL goal scoring records at 33. Something peak Messi couldn't do.

The issue is not only about what the world thinks. It's about facts and stats. CR7 is the perfect goal scorer. He has no weak foot, he is good in the air, and has an amazing goal scoring technique. Put him in any team, with any time of game play--whether it is tiki taka or cross & nod, and he'd score effortlessly.

The same cannot be said of Messi. A player of Messi's quality, in a club as prestigious at Barca, after spending 18 years imbibing only one football philosophy, and with the team built around him would score lots of goals. It doesn't make him a goal scoring machine.

I and numerous other CR7 fans can give you stats and facts to argue that CR7 is better. Same way you guys can give stats and facts to argue LM10 is better. Ditto for Pele, Maradona, Ronaldinho, R9 fans.

People would always have their respective opinions on who the GOAT is. It changes nothing as all of it is subjective.

-He's good with the left foot.
-He's good with the chest.
-Damn he could score goals with his diick.

-Messi has got only his little left foot.

Despite that look at the goal stats!

That left foot scores more goals per game than the head, the chest, the right foot and the left foot put together.

My point is made!

I don't speculate about the future.

How many believed that peak Messi in 2012 at 25 would surrender a 4-1 Ballon D'Or lead?

Or that box-to-box CR7 at 32 would score back-to-back hattricks in the CL knockout stages.

Both players are anomalies. Conventional wisdom don't apply to them and they aren't done yet.

You guys should have your thread.

Next time stick to the normal CR7/LM10 banter. It's fun until you cross red lines.
