As part of events to commemorate ex-military president, General Ibrahim Babangida's 80th birthday on Tuesday, 17th August 2021, an online event is being held in his honor organized by the Ibrahim and Maryam Babangida Presidential Library and Museum.

According to the organizers: "The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Legacy Dialogue 2021 is organized as part of efforts to document the giant strides of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. Organized under the umbrella of the Ibrahim and Maryam Babangida Presidential Library and Museum, this event serves as a veritable tool for students of political science, economics, governance and politics who may be desirous of learning from the shoulders of giants in order to build their tribe and remain detribalized in the daunting need for Re-Building NIGERIA.

"The Dialogue theme is entitled “IBB, A Leader, His Legacy”. This will offer the audience a dynamic conversation and education about the President’s Leadership style, his skills, policies and principles that defined his leadership ideology. The following sub themes have been identified for the dialogue.

Panel 1: How He Built His Tribe.
Panel 2: Vision & Foresight: Re-building a New Nigeria
Panel 3: Economy, Rural Development & Infrastructure.
Panel 4: The Nigerian Foreign Policy & Pan-African Hero.
