This must be when IBB was truly the Iron man. Lt.Gen. Salisu Ibrahim is simply one of the best and most refined apolitical officer (alongside Gen.Domkat Yah Bali(RIP) and Maj.Gen.Ishola Williams all retired) that the Nigerian Army have ever produced. I remember how humble he appeared during Barrack cleanliness inspection @ Ibadan back then when he was the COAS. My biggest regret for him was the humiliation he suffered when he was arrested during the Babangida coup of August 27 1985.Though he was released after the coup succeeded but his agreement to serve under Babangida despite what happened to him was a low for him. |
