Nigerians, in an attempt to save time and out maneuver the other road users will choose to drive on the lane for oncoming vehicles. Soon, the whole road is jammed with no iota of movement for either vehicles using both lanes. There after tension begins to build up among drivers and if one is not careful, he/she may leave there with a scratched or damaged vehicle.

Slow traffic movement that would have taken a few minutes may sometimes end up taking hours if not properly managed.

What do you think is the root cause of the Nigerian manner of handling traffic congestion?

Nigerian drivers, especially on Lagos roads are never coordinated.
All square inch is a driveway here.
Their two lanes will still be plied by one madmax of a driver.

That's why I never trust any direction I'm to cross.
I still look left and right, then left and right again and again before I make an attempt to cross its roads.
