This is narrow gauge and its outdated already with Warnock coaches. There's no hope there, the federal government supposed to build standard gauge there. This kind of track and coaches are one of the reasons why trains keep on derailing, capsidding and killing innocent Nigerians. Rotimi Amechi no try for him people at all! |

Grgton: Actually the Chinese are more interested in using their money to building new one than renovating the old, which make sense in terms of investment and it would be easy to take over if the FG default on their loan. |

adebayo987: So, which model do you endorse for Nigeria the Nation? The Southern or Northern model? If, for instance, you would like Southerners to behave like Northerners, why would Northerners want to change? And why condemn North? |

NEWSREPORT: Not a fan of Bubu the Dullard… But also not a fan of telling half-tales (misrepresentations). These old stations PRECEDED Bubu the Dullard… But we know his govt has approved its rehabilitation contract (see links below). https://www.railjournal.com/infrastructure/us-3-2bn-redevelopment-of-port-harcourt-maiduguri-line-launched/ https://punchng.com/fg-approves-3-02bn-for-ph-maiduguri-rail-line/ >

FreelanceRebel: The Chinese are rehabilitating (actually retrofitting) the old PH-Maiduguri line… Meanwhile, the Kano-Maradi (Niger Repiblic) line is being funded and built by the Portuguese, not the Chinese. > |

ultimateprof: The government is RETROFITTING the existing narrow gauge line… The only real difference is operational speed (120km/h vs 100km/h in Nigeria). >
