Okacha would have been one of the greatest in the world if he happens to be playing now.


If Okocha were playing today, he would sit tire on the bench.

No one has time for his mostly unnecessary dribbling.

I remembered how he used to add to Oliseh's workload because of his unnecessary dribbling.

Although, he later became serious, especially in the early 2000s when the coaches then threatened to never invite him to any Super Eagles matches again.

He had potential, but he was more of an entertainer than a team player/footballer.

There was a lot of money in football then. Okocha earned far more at psg than he did at his earlier club.

Plus not every player earns messi level salaries

Okocha has always been a very deadly midfielder, and his world class skills were used to create space and destabilize/demoralise the opposition.

Go and watch his games for Fenebahche, where he is still regarded as a god to this day. Or Eintracht Frankfurt and PSG. His skills shone, but with highly effective purpose and results.
