The north and Nigeria in its entirety all deserve the stupid irresponsible leadership they have been plaguing themselves with. This irresponsibile governor Aminu Masari goes about with massive armed-to-the-teeth retinue of security operatives that are providing protection for himself, wives, children, aides, cronies etc. Yet he has the guts to tell beleaguered citizens that they who are not constitutionally empowered to carry arms to arm themselves-with catapult as one silly fella advocated sometime back? A man whose primary responsibility towards the citizens is the protection of lives and properties, has renegade on his duty, by asking the citizens to do his job for him. Is he going to give them his security vote to buy arms? I sincerely hope that the masses could for once task our politicians to do their jobs. We have been so brain washed that instead of holding our politicians who have been given tax payers money to build roads and school accountable. We will rather pounce on private citizens for not using their money in repairing the roads in their village or renovating schools in their neighbourhood, forgetting that all these have been paid for and some politicians have embezzled it. Same thing is happening on the issue of job creation. When young people cry of unemployment we the masses come at them by asking them why can't they create jobs for themselves. Some will out of jealousy pick on first class students for not creating jobs rather than looking for one. Out of spite for our fellow people we conveniently brush aside the fact that we have elected officials that we never failed to pay, never for once delayed their salaries, whom were elected with the primary responsibility of providing jobs or at least provide a conducive environment for entrepreneurs. Customs drive too reckless when they chase smugglers. At the end of the chase if the smugglers are caught, arrests are not made, money just change hands and every body goes their separate ways. The villagers also love to hide the smugglers in their villages, I remember the smugglers cars interiors are all covered with black thick materials and you never can tell what's inside the vehicles apart from usual suspicion that its rice, I know guns are also involved because they always come from Niger early morning and late evening hiding from custom chase, police just stop them and collect 500h per car without searching their cars the interior is all covered with black. Now the villagers are suffering it, and they will continue to suffer it until they stop hiding their enemies, even the customs and police just want bribe from them and not to prosecute them. Wonder where the bandits get guns from, May the dead find eternal rest |
