Now to the point you raised, the problem isn't having and keeping to ones identity be it religion or regional affinity. The biggest problem we are having in this country is intolerance fueled by political desperados who out of their desperation
to either grab power or hang on to power or to cover their failures employs the divide and rule tactics by whipping up ethnic, religious or regional sentiments

Even in Europe, people no dey use their culture play. That's why Catalunya wants to leave Spain, Scotland wants to leave the UK, UK lead by England left the EU, Irish left the UK etc.

This North vs South is becoming very destructive to this country

As possible as this may be, Nigeria needs to be restructured into 6 regions with their autonomous constitutions and a federal (national) constitution. The use of these 7 independence constitutions is the only possible way to achieve a truly one united nation of Nigeria built on equity and justice.
