NASS MEMBERS TO SHARE 2.91BN NAIRA TAKE HOME PAY. by OmoTier1(m): 10:45pm On May 19, 2011
In a country where the 'easies' of life is visibily lacking in every corner of Nigeria, the outgoing NASS members will be smiling home with a total take-home pay of 2.91bn naira.

A break down of the top two leaders take-home pay in each house of the NASS shows;
Senate president:over 9.75million naira
Deputy Senate president:Over 7 million naira

Speaker, HOS: over 9.7million Naira
D-Speaker, HOS: over 6.8million Naira.

These sums does not include the several monies allegely being owed members of both chambers owing from committee functions, quaterly allowances, etc.

The members of this present NASS must be wicked and callous, without shame and dognity - Can't they take a cue from Japan where her leadership has turned down pay 'cos her nation is on a brink of a serious social and economic disaster 'cos of the nuclear crisis.

This is the NASS that gave nigerians/nigerians an unworkable budget for 2011 and as I write, the nation has not fiscal projections of her developmental aims for 2011 as the extension of the 2010 appropriation has since elasped!

If I may ask, where is Jonathan getting money to pay the MAY 2011 salaries from as obviously He has refused to sign the budget as passed by this outing inept NASS.

Can someone educate me of what need there is for a budget in 2011 fiscal year given that we are already approaching JUNE. Why don't we go on andboperate an emergency budget till September this year while we reset out fiscal year to begin from November each year as November to September fiscal year obviously has much benefit to present day Nigeria.
