I was thinking earlier about human capital in business. We find that many businesses majorly focus on the financial objectives and the utilization of financial resources. In reality, there are many more objectives that are non-financial and can go a long way in affecting the overall financial performance of the business.

How do you deal with the employees in your organization? How do you train them, cater to their needs and aid their productivity?

I am reminded of the quote by Sir Richard Branson that says “Train people well enough so they can leave. Treat them well enough so they don’t want to”. Your employees need your attention too. To get the best out of them, you need to see the potential in them and hone it to reality.

Think on these words of Ken Robinson “Human Resources are like natural resources; they’re often buried deep. You have to go looking for them. They’re not just lying around on the surface”. This is often the case.
