*Kwara Must Change wades in on N35Billion Bond*

The leading pro-democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change has described the #35billion bond raised by the Kwara State Government as a necessary sacrifice, which Kwarans must bear to ensure rapid development in every sector.

The statement was made by the Convener of the group, AbdulRazaq Hamzat while responding to some issues generated by the bond.

Hamzat observed that all over the world, governments are exploiting unconventional options to bring the much needed infrastructural development to their state. The new order is to invest in social amenities and economic activities to generate revenue and provide the much needed employments for the teeming youths. He said "governments need to leverage on the available options to extract funds that will assist them to re-energize every economic and social sectors". This, he underlined has no harm.

Hamzat went further to allay the fear of the public, which he described as normal especially in a state that has of recent experienced resources mismanagement, and Social disconnect.

"Kwara Must Change have confidence in the ability of the current administration in managing the resources transparently because the government has demonstrated in many ways that it is not only transparent, but equally prudent".

"The recent transparent disbursement of grant support to sme's affected by the #Endsars crisis is a testament to the administration's transparency and this is in addition to other transparent activities, such as bursary disbursement to students, fair teachers recruitment etc, Hamzat said.

While reiterating the commitment of Kwara Must Change to good governance, Hamzat also reminded the people that projects such as KWASU campuses at Osi & Ilesha-Baruba, textile production company, International Cattle Market and other developmental projects that the present administration is planning to embark on (with the accessed bond) are necessary to get the system running sustainably.

He added that there is no where in the world where government information, especially classified ones are available in their raw nature.

However, "government must be encouraged to give specific information that may shape public discourse and understanding to avoid misinformation and unnecessary scepticism"

The process for the bond was not properly handled, hence its bound to create controversy. For instance, the Kwara House of Assembly should have allowed for more public discuss and better engagement between the government and the governed before quickly passing the Bond, there were issues of reconciliation that were yet to be resolved.
My experience with Nigeria has shown that as good as a program may be, if it is not properly sold or advocated, it will create misgivings.

You may have a point, but that's not a constitutional requirement.

Kwha did everything constitutionally required and I do not think it would be right to crucify them for sticking to the legal process only.

Political henchmenism is the act in which futureless people support the madness, stupidity and directionlessness of the ruling power.

What do we call blind and senseless criticism of all purposeful plans of govt?

OTOGE revolution in kwara was just an exercise in futility.
Even this current Government is getting more worse for kwarans..Just like how his president Buhari is making Nigeria to go down.
Corruption under them is legendary that some people still clamour for thief saraki.

There's constructive criticism which is meant to instill sanity into governance and keep the ruling party on its toes.

However, there is no iota of sound governance by this present administration, all they've been shunning out is lifelessness in governance and PDP too is a dead tiger to punch APC's jokes.

Some people in this country are really funny.

They will stay on social media and decide what is good and what is not.
