Ex-military Officers To Be Engaged To Boost Security, Says CDS by deltaboyo1: 7:19am On Aug 25, 2021
The Army has said it will engage retired senior military officers to enhance and overcome the security challenges the country is facing.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Leo Iraboh, announced this yesterday at a one-day interactive session with retired senior military officers from the Northeast at the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Iraboh said the core objective of the parley was to engage the retired senior colleagues to cross-fertilise ideas on how to overcome the current insecurity situation in the region and other parts of the country.

“It is part of the reason I am here with my team: to interact with our retired senior colleagues, to look for holistic solutions about how to bring to an end the insecurity challenges in the region.

“We believe that as we interact and engage them, they will be ready to open up to us in areas that will enhance security, also be able to tell us areas of our mistakes and for us to make corrections,” Iraboh said.

According to the CDS, among the cardinal objectives of the parley is the need to come up with solutions, as security is everybody’s business.

Lol, when they were in services what's their achievement? What about the unemployed and fresh graduate with fresh ideas?
This is just another way of wasting our tax payers money and giving it people already on pension.
Another way to enrich the northern retired soldiers, this is my own opinion ooo, but you can enlighten me on how old ideas is going to help us move forward.
The world is now modernized I don't see how old cargos will be talking about making use of drones and spy cams.

Let's see; You first sack most of them prematurely because they don't fit the bill as it regards the parochial cravings of the queer C-in-C. A generation of military officers were retired just to get Buhari the Chief of Army Staff he desires.. These are very highly trained officers with strong resumes but who had to go anyways either because they don't come from the ""right place" or because they don't worship the "right religion".. Officers in their primes professionally. Trained across the globe, at the top of their commands who had to go anyways..

Now, having been summarily relieved of their duties, they are now out of the system and almost useless in terms of their professional abilities to effect serious changes within the military, .... Then all of a sudden, they become the new bride wanted by the same government that sacked them. Essentially, the government wants to use them to do the dirty works but is unwilling to allow them stay in the military to do so. A nation at war retiring Generals that are still in their 50 in groups! The fact that you are ready to pay them handsomely now to do the same work they could have done as officers if they weren't sacked, shows how parochialism traunced common sense in their removal. This is what tribalism does to a system.
