It was mentioned back in December that Seun Kuti had the intention to register MOP ( Movement Of The People ) as a political party in Nigeria and he approached INEC with a document of interest for registration back in January earlier this year.

Well as of now they are holding the NEC and SEC elections for the party.

They've completed the manifesto, code of conduct and party constitution

They've set up secretariats in 5 states and FCT so far ( Lagos, Anambra, Ogun, Rivers and Kogi )

Once they've set up base in 5 more states then they approach INEC for final registration so we're currently looking at October this year latest January 2022.

Everybody viewing this please spread the word at work, in the market, in the keke napep, in the danfo where ever tell the people MOP is the party that will liberate the Nigerian people and bring us the development we want. From December till today I would estimate we have about 20k which isn't a great number but it's still something but together as one we can easily increase the numbers imagine if every one of those 20k got 5 supporters

It is more on the socialist side but even there it isn't strongly socialist they just want all Nigerians to have access to basic amenities such as free education, free healthcare, electricity, water, good roads and housing and socialism is the easiest way to ensure that everybody gets access to these. M.O.P needs to prioritize political education in their movement because of misinformation and fighting against fascist. The goal of socialism is to achieve full communism. Being pro socialism and against communism is an oxymoron. Like Thomas sankara said “ Without patriotic political education, a soldier is only a potential criminal.” We need to be careful and not try to create reactionary foot soldiers. If that happens you’ll create movement like IPOB again. That is what happens when your movement isn’t strictly guided by an ideology. Wanting free education and healthcare isn’t enough, I mean that’s what IPOB want Marxism isn't based on Moralism or idealism, you're not a marxist just because you dislike Capitalism or whatever. Marxism is a social science and there are certain foundations and concepts which form the core of marxism that should be studied. If your movement isn’t guided by theory you’ll fall prey towards liberalism. As Marxist, we are scientists and theory are our equations. We have studied and observed our theories in action in the material world. We have demonstrable, repeatable results from the formulas contained within, and many of the processes and functions discussed in theory are things that can accurately be mapped onto existing material conditions to show what to do or where to make changes. Through political education, we can learn from past experience and from theories about how to create the right change. Lenin, Mao, Stalin, and so on read theory. Nobody tries to argue that they could invent new mathematical proofs and design structurally sound bridges without having any education in math other than what they've casually picked up from TV and the internet, and everybody would probably laugh at someone who would, yet tons of people think they can do exactly this with politics. We need to learn from the past to make sense of our current material conditions. In fact our socialism needs to be done in naija characteristic.

I’m happy to hear that MOP has socialist in their party but they need to emphasize it more because it is important for making our movement work. And this thing is more important than participating in bourgeois democracy. We need to build power from the outside so that we can topple our government from the outside. I hope my criticism makes sense, not trying to bash MOP because I still support them.

You have to remember that bourgeois democracy cannot be used for radical change. Russia messed up a lot and we have to learn from their mistakes even though they had the right idea. China is not perfect but their human rights are greatly exaggerated. They’re not different from a country like japan but that isn’t remotely a good thing. But recently they’ve been getting better because they’re transitioning out of capitalism. For instance the government recently banned private education to ensure that education isn’t a class barrier. I don’t believe they are perfect but they have shown us that a socialist revolution is possible. I can see Nigeria becoming socialist in my lifetime.
