The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Saturday chose Abuja as the venue of its elective National Convention scheduled for October 30-31. This was announced by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, after the 92nd National Executive Committee meeting of the party in Abuja on Saturday. The NEC Meeting was presided over by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Yemi Akinwonmi. Politics Hub Nigeria reports that the embattled National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, had directed Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, to preside over the National Executive Committee meeting of the party in his stead. The directive which was contained in a letter followed a a Friday order from a Cross river State High Court that sacked Mr.Secondus again. Meanwhile, Mr. Ologbondiyan added that the PDP NEC also agreed to meet on September 9th to ratify appointments into the various committees for the PDP National Convention.
