Obi, PDP govs storm Anambra, assure Ozigbo's victory in November poll



The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Peter Obi , three governors of the party and other stakeholders were in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Tuesday to kick off the membership electronic registration of the party ahead of the November 6 governorship poll in the state.

Led by the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki the party leaders assured victory for the party's candidate, Valentine Ozigbo and his running mate, Mrs Azuka Enemo, in the poll.

They enjoined the electorate in the state to obtain their voter's cards for the poll.

Obaseki, who is the Chairman of the PDP membership e-Registration, said the party chose Anambra State to launch the exercise because of the November 6 gubernatorial poll.

Speaking , Mr Peter Obi announced that the PDP would give awards to wards that could register up to 100 members in a month, even as he assured that the November poll would be won by the party.

On his part, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, enjoined party faithful in Anambra not to be deterred or fear any threat, assuring that the PDP leaders across the country would work harmoniously for the success of Ozigbo in the poll.

Contributing, the governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, enjoined Anambra voters to get ready to vote and protect their votes from the polling units to collation centres, stressing that their destinies were in their hands.

Ozigbo, on his part, enjoined the people of the state to participate in the ongoing continuous voter registration so as to be eligible for the poll.
