Some people walk into a room full of strangers and glide from one lively conversation to the next, uncovering gold new business contacts.

You will always need to attract customer's attention.
Get your friends to introduce you to people you don't know- introduce yourself and tell them what you do, have your business card handy.
Share branded souvenirs.
People are generally in a happy mood at parties, so move around and take pictures and tell them to tag you on instagram.
Research on the type of people that will be at the party and zero in on your potential customers.
Wear your brand. example create a branded brooch, necklace etc.

Things to remember:

Bring topics to discuss or personal experiences to share.
When deciding who to approach, pay attention to other's facial expressions and body language.
Look for opportunities to assist others by providing information or making introductions.
Make sure you have at least one hand free of snacks and drinks so you can shake hands.
Look for others' eye contact or a nod as a cue to introduce yourself.
