General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu gave his last speech as Biafran Head-of-State before leaving for Côte d'Ivoire, on this date. On that occasion, he said:
“In the three years of the war, necessity gave birth to invention. During those three years of heroic bound, we leapt across the great chasm that separates knowledge from know-how. We built rockets, and we designed and built our own delivery systems. We guided our rockets. We guided them far, we guided them accurately.

For three years, blockaded without hope of import, we maintained all our vehicles. The state extracted and refined petrol, individuals refined petrol in their back gardens. We built and maintained our airports, maintained them under heavy bombardment.

Despite the heavy bombardment, we recovered so quickly after each raid that we were able to maintain the record for the busiest airport in the continent of Africa. We spoke to the world through telecommunication system engineered by local ingenuity; the world heard us and spoke back to us! We built armoured car tanks. We modified aircraft from trainer to fighters, from passenger aircraft to bombers. In the three years of freedom we had broken the technological barrier.

The best way to resolve an issue or disagreement is through dialogue and not war because people will die and some will be deformed for life. The headline should have been before "he went on self exile" and "not fled Nigeria"

it was easy for Ojukwu to achieved Biafra when some countries backed him up then, than KANU who have no one to back him up to achieved it

we should all called for referendum diplomatically to avoid bloodshed of our youths, if not for blockage, and not carrying other southern region along, Ojukwu would have achieved his objective easily, planning to attack Lagos made Yoruba to go fully against him

his own time had come and his page had closed, just like everyone reading this time will come and go

Igbos are the winners eventually, see today, Bokoharam, iswap, fulani herdsmen and bandits terrorists are having a field day in northern Nigeria where local governments taxes are being shared by Nigerian govt and bandits on 50/50 basis.
Lest I forget, the last time I checked, we heard northerners now use cow urine to drink tea in the morning while chewing grass for lunch.

The obsession with Igbos,Ojukwu and Biafra continues. Do you guys have your own history at all or is it too boring like the fallen angel fairy tale?

The brave make history while the pussies talk about it endlessly.

@emboldened, we(Ndigbo) have really broken the Technological Barrier.
That is why we are not in the same level with the Nigerians surrounding us.
It is fruitless for a Nigerian to compete with an Igbo man because the barrier was broken by our father's not us, so we are merely walking through paved path.
Nobody how much Nigeria increase cut off for Ndigbo in their universities, we will still excel and get admission because we are not in the same level with them.

God bless Alaigbo

I think in the side of history, Ojukwu who fought and ran away is far better than Awolowo the otapiapia drinker. The relics in Owerri's museum are enough evidences to make somebody drink otapiapia and die. And they are able to give you guys sleepless night that Biafra is still alive

Obatala7Kronos:

There was a civil war, your bearded-leader-cum-woman-dresser-as-means-to-ben-johnson-to-abidjan-in-Côte d'Ivoire and my erudite leader had an agreement.

You allowed your emotions take the best of you, you knew you lack what it takes to combat the Fulani Army (Just like what Lamidi Cownu is currently doing), but you decided to forge ahead knowing fully well that you only had Cutlasses & Catapults in your arsenal, and matched your troops towards Lagos instead of Abuja, Kaduna, Kano and Sokoto. grin

You then enlisted the help of some French Mercenaries and started dropping bombs on Lagos, because Dodan Barracks was located in Lagos, expecting us (the indigenous inhabitants) to fold our arms and be shouting BIAFLA in solidarity. grin

My brother, you no know say Ojukwu Coconut head, including that of his upcoming generation no correct at all? grin

The Nigerian Army routed your ragtag militia and conquered your ancestors - turning your yam-legged women into sex slaves.

And you dare call us betrayers & backstabbers because we stood up to protect our lands?

This is the exact same pattern Lamidi Cownu is following - abusing & cursing my ancestors while expecting us to be shouting BIAFLA in solidarity ?

Your ancestor Zik had his akpu-filled coconut head in the clouds, choosing to ally with the North against my people.

In order to form a Government, the Parliamentary election was held on December 12, 1959.

Zik’s party (NCNC) came first with 2,594,577 and got 81 seats.

Awolowo’s party (AG) came second with 1,992,364 votes and got 73 seats.

Ahmadu Bello’s party (NPC) came third with 1,922,179 votes and got 134 seats of the 312 seats despite getting less votes!

And rather than Zik forming an alliance with my ancestor Awolowo despite the agreement that Awolowo would be the Deputy Prime Minister or Finance Minister with Zik as the Prime Minister.

The bastard went ahead & formed a coalition with Ahmadu Bello’s (NPC) wherein Tafawa Balewa would be Prime Minister while Zik would occupy the powerless, toothless bulldog Governor-General position - just to spite Awolowo my erudite ancestor.

No! It wasn’t Lord Luggard or the British that handed Nigeria to the Fulanis; it was your stupid & over-ambitious ancestor - Zik.

And now, decades later, rather than coming cap-in-hand to seeking our forgiveness & mutually beneficial cooperation, you hurl insults & derogatory slurs at us.

You call my ancestor (Oduduwa) a fallen demon because we have refused to extricate you (cannibalistic barbarians) from the treacherous snares laid by your stupid ancestor “Zik” in which his entire generation is now entangled in - out of greed, selfishness & foolishness, forgetting that “the sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient”.

Now you go about claiming Jewish Ancestry - when it is documented on Clay Tablets how your "Cannibalistic Ancestors" were covering their P-enises & V-aginas with Mango & Banana leaves while jumping from Guava Trees to Paw-Paw Trees in search of food - at a time when my own Ancestors were already running the Oyo Empire that stretched from Ibadan all the way to Dahomey?

And now, you have the temerity to refer to us as the “green algae soup eaters” because we refuse to align with your useless ideology?

Sango will obliterate all of you if you believe you can intimidate & blackmail us into supporting your utopian dream.

Foolish, Loud-Mouthed, Despicable, Vacuous, Cannibalistic, Hypocritical, Incestuous & Criminally-Minded Lots!

Number of ballots does not determine which party won a election in a parliamentary system of government. The number of seats determines the party that won the election. A party had to win, at least, two-thirds number of seats in the parliament to assume a winner.

(NCNC) won 81 seats.

(AG) won 73 seats.

(NPC) won 134 seats

The above postulation will remove the benefit of Awo's free education or lack thereof. There was nothing such as a party came first or second or third. Each party needed to win 208 seats or more to remotely claim of wining the election in order to form a government. In the above statistics, none of parties even came within a striking distance to ensure a government. The coalition of NCNC and AG cannot produce a coalition government same as NPC and AG. The only possible scenario was a coalition of NCNC and NPC which could produce at least two-thirds majority required to form a government.
