One of the greatest enemies of every smartphone user is excessive mobile data charges. It is abnormal to recharge 10GB of data today, and 3 days later the data is no more. This complaint of excessive data depletion has lingered for a very long time, and we want to address it once and for all.

When you complain to your various telecom providers, they’ll blame you for watching too many videos, or even downloading when you know full well that you didn’t do anything meaningful with your data.

Most MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile users have this major complaint of data depletion, but we have put in a way you can reduce the depletion by applying the below guide.

If you turn off background refresh you won't be able to get notifications till you open the app

If you like turn off everything you could turn off it won't change the fact that data consumption also has to do with you service provider, they measure the rate in which data is consumed

The data saver feature on instagram reduces the quality of the app and make things load slower, couple it with our terrible internet speed,no one would tell you to turn it off

Imagine being told you've used over 100 gb In 3 days after watching 3 netflix movies

You will still be able to receive new message notifications even if you turn off background app refresh on iOS. This works for WhatsApp, Telegram and other instant messaging apps.

Another effective way to save data on iOS is to turn on ‘Low data mode’ in <Settings><Cellular ><Cellular data options> then toggle on the ‘Low data mode’ switch.
